Bone marrow derived long-lived plasma cell phenotypes are heterogeneous and can change in culture
2022, Transplant ImmunologyCitation Excerpt :Thus, high levels of CD38 expression might be an appropriate marker for PCs. CD38 appears to have several functions, including enzymatic action (metabolizing NAD and NADP), signaling (involved in the activation, growth, and survival of lymphoid and myeloid cells), and possibly cell-cell interactions [26,31–36]. CD38 is expressed from the earliest stages of B-cell development.
T-cell polarization: Potential serological markers in preterm and term infants
2016, Early Human DevelopmentCitation Excerpt :Cord blood mononuclear cells (CBMCs) were isolated by using density gradient centrifugation with Ficoll-Hypaque and cultured unstimulated or stimulated with PHA (5 μg/ml). IFNγ levels (pg/ml) produced by cord blood lymphocytes were also analyzed, both before and after stimulation with phytohaemagglutinin (PHA), as previously described [7–9]. IFNγ concentration in culture supernatants was measured using the Cytometric Bead Array (CBA) human Th1/Th2 kit II (BD Pharmingen, CA), according to the manufacturer's instructions.
